Deepak Dahiya has inter-disciplinary research interests in Computer Science and IT Management (with Strategy). 


He has  MTech and PhD degrees in Computer Science from BITS Pilani, India.  He also has a PhD degree in Management from the Department of Management Studies (DoMS), IIT Madras. He completed his PhD coursework in management at IIT Madras with a CGPA of 9.2 / 10.


Deepak has been a Visiting Researcher to RMIT University, Australia, Guest Faculty to FMS Delhi, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Rohtak, India, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode, India and  LNM Institute of Information Technology (LNMIIT) Jaipur, India.    Deepak was also selected for  the Post-Doctoral Bridge to Business Program at Pamplin College of Business, Virginia Tech, US.    


Deepak's last teaching assignment was working as Professor of Computer Science & Information Systems at School of Computer  and Information Science (CCIS) at Majmaah University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 


Currently, he is Assistant Professor of Computer Science (Tenure Stream) in the School of Engineering and Computer Science at University of Pittsburgh Johnstown, Pennsylvania, US. Previously, he was Visiting Assistant Professor of Computer Science in the School of Engineering and Computer Science at University of Pittsburgh Johnstown, Pennsylvania, US.


Past teaching included conducting courses for M.S.(Cyber Security and Digital Forensics), B.S. (Computer Science) and B.S. (Public Health) programmes in Information Security, Software Security, Network Security, Research Dissertation / Project, Big Data Analytics, Probability and Statistics for Data Science, Software Modeling and Analysis, Human Computer Interaction, Systems Analysis and Design for Healthcare and Health Information System Application Development.


Current teaching include conducting courses in Big Data Analytics, Databases, Perspectives in Computer Science, Cyber security, Advanced Object Oriented Design, Computer programming using Python and Java.


His other practicing interests include exploring innovation, entrepreneurship and small businesses.
